Recycling of Surplus Workwear

09.2025

Approximately 200 kg of unused surplus workwear generated by the Company was recycled through a material recycling process and repurposed into automotive interior materials.

This initiative utilized the “Chikuma-No-Loop” recycling scheme developed by Chikuma Co., Ltd., with the recycling process carried out by NCS Co., Ltd. (Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture). “Chikuma-No-Loop” is a fabric collection and recycling system that was launched as Japan’s first public–private partnership project in collaboration with Kitakyushu City. Chikuma Co., Ltd. was the first company to establish a recycling scheme for fabric products manufactured by other companies, in full compliance with the Waste Management and Public Cleansing Act.

A comparison between material recycling through the “Chikuma-No-Loop” scheme and simple incineration disposal shows that recycling approximately 200 kg of workwear resulted in a reduction of approximately 720 kg of CO₂ emissions.

While the emission reduction achieved through this initiative is modest, Colcoat Co., Ltd. remains committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by steadily accumulating such small but meaningful actions.
