  • 1951
  • Makino Chemical Laboratory, established by Yukio Noguchi, successfully invented Anti-static Agent, Colcoat, and patented from 8 countries.

  • 1956
  • NIPPON Colcoat Chemical Co., Ltd. was established with 2.5 million Yen capital, President Yukio Noguchi. Started manufacturing and processing “COLCOAT”.
  • 1957〜1958
  • With respect to invention of “COLCOAT”, Yukio Noguchi received Tokyo Metropolitan Governor Invention Award, Kanto region Invention Award and Invention Association Chairman Award.
  • 1959
  • With respect to invention of “COLCOAT”, Yukio Noguchi received 1st Science and Technology Agency Director General Award.

1960’s

  • 1962
  • Started manufacturing Ethyl Silicate.
  • 1963
  • Completed Saitama Plant 1 in Gyoda City. Started manufacturing Anti-static Agent “NC-200” and “NONDUST”.
    “COLCOAT” Coating Division and Plastic Injection Molding Division went into operation.

  • New model of injection molding machine installed at Saitama Plant 1 and started precision thick-wall molding.
    Completed Saitama Plant 2 and started operation as a synthetic chemical plant.

1970’s

  • 1973
  • President Yukio Noguchi was awarded for the Purple Ribbon Medal from the Emperor.
  • 1974
  • Awarded National Commendation as a top rated Small and Medium Enterprise which is equivalent to Grand Prix of Good Company Award the Japanese Governmental Organization.
  • 1976
  • Started full scale production of Plastic Lenses. Introduced a new and powerful large molding machine and began production of large size molded products.
  • 1978
  • Established Technology Research Institute in Saitama Plant 1 and started comprehensive research work.

1980’s

  • 1980
  • New pollution-free production facility commenced at Saitama Plant 2.
    Expanded production capacity for Ethyl Silicate.

  • Changed the company name to Colcoat Co., Ltd.
    Developed Anti-static Agent “COLCOAT 515” for packaging of electronic components. Semiconductor manufacturers qualified “COLCOAT 515” as an Anti-static agent to prevent ICs from electrostatic discharge during the transportation.
  • 1984
  • Developed and manufactured a large aperture converter lens for video cameras. Started commercial production of converter lenses under the “CALUX” brand in domestic and international markets.
    Participated in Photokina Messe in Koln, Germany.

  • Developed Light Distribution Reflector for portable liquid crystal display TV.
  • 1987
  • Installed equipments for mold tool manufacturing in Designing and Production Division.
    Developed coating agent for non-glare treatment of CRTs.

  • Founder, Yukio Noguchi received the Order of the Sacred Treasure from the Japanese Government.

  • Developed and manufactured 3 inches single panel type LCD projector and started OEM supply to domestic and oversea customers.
    Participated in international exhibition held in U.S., Germany, and other countries.

  • Developed TiO2 Photocatalyst coating agent.
  • 1994
  • Established Colcoat Optronics Inc. in Calgary, Canada.
    Developed electroconductive coating agents “SP series”.
  • 1996
  • Developed modified Ethyl Silicates for the application of hydrophilic additives of anti-fouling paints.
    Developed Backlight Unit for large size LCD modules. Also developed 4 inches LCD monitor.

  • Nagoya business unit opened.

2000’s

  • New factory completed at Saitama plant 1.
    JIS B9920 Class 6 clean room started operation.
